A big 'thank you' to Shannon for the wonderful grooming experience Max, our long-haired Shepherd, had yesterday! He is always so happy and comfortable with Shannon and he is going to enjoy the long, hot summer so much more now that he has lost his big winter coat.

We know how difficult it is to get Max to stay still for more than 2 seconds so, well done Shannon...and ..great work on the nails and ears too!!

We highly recommend Shannon's grooming and Max is already looking forward to his next session. : )

Our three boys were at "camp" again and came home happy and peaceful. The next day they seemed a little bored at home! We love that we can see their activities online while they are away--this is very reassuring. Thank you so much for your expert care Looda and Gary, we could never leave our little guys anywhere else!

Roy and Carol Ann :!clap:

Thank you so much for the great care (as always) you give our dog Zoe. Since she is blind it is nice to know she will be cared for in a loving manner when we are away. She always is tired from all the play when she gets home :) and the additional training she gets with you is always top notch! Thanks again.

Dear Looda!

I have been meaning to write to you for the past five months but never seemed to get around to it :/

I am assuming you remember Tom and Snowy from last year :) Well, we arrived safely to Belgrade last August and both dogs have now settled in nicely. Tom had a really hard time with the trip, he even managed to escape the crate at the Munich airport and had to be chased on the runway (!) but returned promptly when they got my husband out there. The first few weeks were a bit stressful for them, the moving in, the new house, the new neighbourhood. Also, pets are different here (most are guard dogs more than pets and so there is quite a cacophony on every street as they are protecting their territory whenever another dog passes or someone gets too close to the gate/fence of the property). There are also many (MANY!) stray dogs on the streets of Belgrade.

So there was some adjusting to do and we still had our worries about Tom (if you recall, he had a biting incident just before we left Ottawa) but we seem to have a gotten a grasp on it, mainly due to training we have been focusing on. He is still quite protective of his territory but he is on the way to seeing us as the ultimate bosses in that regard.

Generally we think they are happy.

We have also found a place to house them when we go away similar to yours and feel very fortunate in that regard. Of course, you set the high standard with the care and service you provide at AreaK9 and so those are the standards we sought when we looked.

I want to thank you for the great service and care you provided for all of us, not just Tom and Snowy, while we lived in the area. You did not just provide a safe and caring environment for them when they were with you but also great guidance for us as a family that we can and have been using in creating a good people-dog symbiosis in our family.

We have a much better understanding of “a dog’s mind” and in particular what Tom and Snowy’s needs are, the boundaries and the dynamics we needed to and now do foster and strategies we can take to overcome obstacles when we come to them. This general improvement in our understanding of how a dog’s mind works has also helped us in dealing positively in this challenging environment we currently live in with regards to guard and stray dogs. All the dogs on our neighbourhood streets that normally look so menacing now love to see us approach them and their territories for a little cuddle through the fence. At the same time, we are able to keep ourselves safe in challenging situations by taking the right stance.

In any case, I hope the new year is treating you well and I look forward to filling the survey via the link you sent.

Thank you again and, if we return to the Ottawa area in three years-time when we are scheduled to come back to Canada, we look forward to seeing you again!

Sincerely,

Ana

Bobby apparently loved his stay with you...he even looked at bit blue when he returned home yesterday!! We always leave him with you, knowing he is well cared for and will be loved. Since he is a senior dog, that means a lot...you know that old saying about not teaching an old dog new tricks!!

We appreciated Shannon's care too. All the best in the New Year.

Thanks from all three of us: Joy, Bryan and Bobby :)

The Christmas holidays was the first time Zodi has ever been away from our family for an extended period. Needless to say we were very nervous leaving her for the 10 days. Having her spend the holidays at AreaK9, with the great care of Looda and the gang, we knew she was going to be happy and enjoy her time away. The update emails and the facebook pictures allowed us to see how she was doing and relax knowing she was having a blast.

Thanks so much for taking such great care of her

Having found AreaK9, it's now the only place we would ever consider leaving our dog Maggie. Looda and her team are simply outstanding. It's obvious that Maggie is so well cared for, happy, well exercised and content at AreaK9. To anyone who wonders how we would know this (after all, Maggie doesn't talk to us, at least not in English), consider this: whenever Maggie arrives at AreaK9 and sees Looda the Pack Leader, she throws herself on the floor, tail wagging, excited as can be, and doesn't look back when we leave. Of course she's always pleased to see us when we pick her up, and her transition back home is seamless... except she sleeps a little more than usual in the day or two that follows. We have total confidence in AreaK9, their professionalism, their advice and their dedication. Thank you Looda and team! All the best for 2012.

We had a month long business trip to Australia. We checked out other cage type kennels. We were delighted to find AreaK9, the thought of having our Ginger stay in a cage was heartbreaking. AreaK9's no cage concept was immediately appealing, and after meeting Looda we knew that it was a great decision and one we would be the best for our Ginger

She had a great time, lots of play with other doggies and love from Looda and Gary, she even slept in their room. Looda is simply awesome! Her skills as a dog trainer are excellent but it's her genuine love of dogs that is obvious from our first meeting. Ginger took to her immediately.

We have no worries recommending Areak9 to anyone who is looking for the best care for their dog...

Thanks so much and we wish you all the best.
